Eileen Rose Walsh. June 9, 1935 to April 27, 2017. Eileen R. Walsh passed away peacefully at Golden Home Terra Linda surrounded by loving family. One of 7 children of Edward and Catherine Walsh. A native San Franciscan, Eileen and siblings, Mary, Kathleen, Patrick, Thomas, Ed and Ann, considered Golden Gate Park to be their backyard. Eileen remained close throughout her life to the friends she made in her early years in the Sunset, at St. Anne’s, Star of Sea and Cal Berkeley.

In 1958 Eileen married the late David F. Woerner Jr. Together they had three children David F Woerner III (Karla), Susannah Woerner, Mark Woerner (Dayna). She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren whom she adored and who adored her.

Enjoying variety and challenges, Eileen was an entrepreneur, a teacher for 35 years, and administrator for the Iranian Embassy. She loved her grandchildren, movies, enjoyed traveling, good food and was an avid reader.

Later in life she met the love of her life Stan Buchanan. For 15 years they shared the joys of travel, music and dance, wit and humor. Five years ago she suffered a serious stoke but Stan remained devoted to her and they continued to enjoy family and friends and attend events made possible in part by the many generous donations for the “Van for Stan”.

Family and friends are invited to attend a mass followed by a celebration of her life on May 25, 2017 at St. Vincent’s School for Boys Chapel, 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Hospice by the Bay in Eileen’s memory.
