Wondolowski scores 2 as Quakes fell Timbers
Chris Wondolowski scored two goals and assisted on one to lead the San Jose Earthquakes past the Portland Timbers 3-0 at Avaya Stadium on Saturday night.
The Quakes improved to 3-0-2 this season on their home pitch.
Jahmir Hyka scored the first goal in the eighth minute off an assist by Wondolowski, who then scored in the 31st and again in the 55th. Florian Jungwirth assisted on both scores by Wondolowski.
Deltas notch road win: Jackson returned from a two-match suspension and headed in the winner as San Francisco beat North Carolina FC 2-1 for the franchise’s first road win. The Deltas (2-1-3) also got a goal from Reiner Ferreira, and Cristian Portilla assisted on both goals.
