Wondolowsk­i scores 2 as Quakes fell Timbers

Chris Wondolowsk­i scored two goals and assisted on one to lead the San Jose Earthquake­s past the Portland Timbers 3-0 at Avaya Stadium on Saturday night.

The Quakes improved to 3-0-2 this season on their home pitch.

Jahmir Hyka scored the first goal in the eighth minute off an assist by Wondolowsk­i, who then scored in the 31st and again in the 55th. Florian Jungwirth assisted on both scores by Wondolowsk­i.

Deltas notch road win: Jackson returned from a two-match suspension and headed in the winner as San Francisco beat North Carolina FC 2-1 for the franchise’s first road win. The Deltas (2-1-3) also got a goal from Reiner Ferreira, and Cristian Portilla assisted on both goals.
