Mary Estelle Hanley was born on March 21, 1924 in San Francisco to John F. and Mary T. Hanley. Auntie was proud to be born and raised in the Richmond District of San Francisco where she attended St. Monica’s Grammar school and Star of Sea Academy High School and remained in the same home all of her life. She is predecease­d by her sister Helen Frances, brother John (Jack) and brother-in-law Harold. She is survived by loving nieces and nephews – Mary (Steve), Patty Ann, Willy (Deb), John (Darlene), Matt (Terry), Kathleen (Matt) and Michael. She is also survived by 5 greatnephe­ws – Ray (Shawna), Connor, Trevor, Casey, Colton and 5 great- nieces – Theresa (Peter), Megan (CJ), Jacqueline, Carly and Emily. She is the great-great Aunt of Ella, Luke, Will and Michael. Auntie was a long time employee of MetLife for over 40 years and made many lifetime friends and traveling companions along the way – Rosie, Madelyn and Rose and many others. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mariann and devoted cousins Joseph Lordan (Joan) and Mary Barretta (Manuel). Auntie passed away peacefully on April 23rd at Nazareth House in San Rafael. Our family extends our gratitude for those who gave our devoted Aunt their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fathers and Brothers Maryknoll, PO Box 307, Maryknoll, NY 105450302. The funeral services will be held at St. Monica’s Church on Tuesday, May 9th with a mass at 10:00 a.m. followed immediatel­y by burial services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
