Teresita “Teresa” Estefanita Pineda passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love on April 29, 2017 at the age of 83.

Loving wife of Richard Pineda, beloved mother of sons Mark (Erika) and Christopher (Susan); treasured grandmother of Gabriel, Jordan, Aidan, Madison, Shane and Marcus; loving auntie of Evelyn, Christa, and Nicholas Fernandez; sister to Alex, Pricilla (Garcia), Gilbert, Mary Francis (Lastra) and Eddy. Teresa was born in Sante Fe, New Mexico on January 8, 1934 to parents Virginia and Rufugio Dominiguez. The family moved to San Francisco in 1941, where she grew up in the Rincon Hill District with her brothers and sisters. She and Richard married in 1958 and settled in the Portola District to raise their family.

A loving, devoted wife and mother, Teresa loved spending time with her family, a good laugh, and a glass of champagne. She was happiest when she was surrounded by children. After raising her sons, Teresa reveled in caring for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighborhood children. A devoted gardener, her beautiful and lush backyard is a testament to her incredible work ethic, physical strength and nurturing spirit. As her garden she so carefully cultivated lives on, so too will her loving and devoted spirit for all those who loved her.

Private services will be held.
