In Loving Memory of Alan Clayton Rowland, 81 of Las Vegas Sunrise July 11, 1935 - Sunset February 12, 2017. Alan was born the only child of Leonard and Juanita Rowland July 11, 1935 in Albany, California. Alan served in the US Navy Reserves for 4 years. He graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors in Science, and a Masters in Electrical Engineerin­g, and was the first graduate from the School of Engineerin­g to be invited join Phi Beta Kappa. He spent his next 30 years working for Intel Corporatio­n. Alan was a 20 year resident of Las Vegas, avid golfer and bowler. He traveled the world for work and for pleasure to many cites in Asia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, North and Central America. His favorite place to travel was Mexico, where he spent time there after college. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfathe­r, uncle, and an awesome friend to all. No matter your troubles he found a way to make you laugh. He was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Juanita Rowland; survived by his wife Juanita; daughters Michelle and Maia; sons John and Jeffrey Danner Sr; grandchild­ren Jeffrey Jr.,Anthony, Michael, and Alyssa; cousins Janet Nelson, Wendall and Marilyn Bell; brother-in-law Simon Holmes; sister-in-law Lavora Ducket. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and a large group of close friends from around the world. On June 3, from 4pm-8pm a Memorial will be hosted by his family to celebrate his life.
