Cal and St. Mary’s are the top two seeded teams in the quarterfin­als of the Collegiate Rugby Championsh­ip 7s in Philadelph­ia. Cal swept pool play with three wins on Saturday. The Bears beat Clemson 33-12, Penn State 28-19 and Delaware 54-0.

St. Mary’s beat Temple 41-0 and Dartmouth 26-7.

WNBA: Sylvia Fowles scored 26 points and Rebekkah Brunson added 21 as the visiting Minnesota Lynx (7-0) beat the Seattle Storm 100-77 . ... Courtney Williams scored a career-best 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting and the visiting Connecticu­t Sun beat the San Antonio Stars 85-77. Kayla McBride scored 27 points to lead the Stars (0-7), and Kelsey Plum, the No. 1 overall draft pick, made her first WNBA start and had eight points and seven assists . ... Candice Dupree scored 18 points, and Briann January 16,as the host Indiana Fever beat the Dallas Wings 91-85.

Horse racing: Jerry Bozzo, 96, became the oldest thoroughbr­ed trainer to win a race when Cotton Tooyah rallied to win by 4½ lengths in the second race at Gulfstream Park in Florida.

Bozzo surpassed Noble Threewitt, who won a race at age 95 at Santa Anita in 2006.

Swimming: Defending Olympic champion Katie Ledecky of Stanford posted the fastest time in the world this year in the women’s 200-meter freestyle at a Pro Swim Series event in Santa Clara. Ledecky finished in 1 minute, 55.34 seconds, touching ahead of Siobhan Haughey of Hong Kong (1:58.14) and Stanford teammate Katie Drabot (1:58.85).

College football: Michigan wide receiver Grant Perry is back with the Wolverines while he awaits trial on allegation­s that he assaulted a police officer and improperly touched a woman in December.
