The Matriarch of the Murphy Family, Ida Conlon has passed away peacefully. Preceded in death by her husband Charlie Conlon, sisters Josephine O’Leary (Larry), Anna Mae Murphy, & Patricia Long (John), and her nephew Robert Newsom.

She is survived by loving nieces Joanne Newsom, & Terry Long-Mullaney (Mike.) Loved by grandniece­s and nephews Rob Newsom Jr. (Jen), Danny Newsom (Andrea), Chrissy & Katie Newsom and Chris & Ryan Mullaney. She will be missed by her great grandniece­s Keely, Maeve, & Mara Newsom, and great grandnephe­w Juan.

Ida worked for the City Attorney’s office where she met her husband Charlie Conlon. After they married, she worked for over 30 years in Charlie’s Pharmacy (Conlon’s Drugstore on Judah St.). As Charlie greeted & held court with customers Ida worked behind the counter. Together they made a great team. They were regulars at Joe’s of Westlake every night after they closed the drugstore. Ida was a member of St. Stephen’s Women’s Guild, Little Sister’s of the Poor, and the Doelger Center.

The family would like to thank caregiver’s Chrissy Newsom and Fei Taufatofua, and all of the nurses at Coming Home Hospice for their loving care of Ida. You are our angels! Friends and family may visit Tuesday, June 6th, 2017 from 6:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City, 94014. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 451 Eucalyptus Dr, San Francisco, CA 94132.
