-

Oct. 8, 1930 - May 30, 2017

Alfred Jacob Bercovich, beloved Father, Grandfather and Friend, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on the night of May 30th 2017. He was preceded in passing by his parents Ida and Harry Bercovich and his wife of 62 years, Norma Bercovich. Alfred is survived by his daughter and son-inlaw, Debbie and Bob Siskin, his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ruth Bercovich and his grandchildren, Rachelle Siskin, David and Jamie Siskin and Elizabeth Bercovich.

Alfred was born in Oakland on October 8th 1930 where he lived and worked at his family store, E. Bercovich and Son Furniture, until his mid-20’s when he moved to San Francisco and opened his own shop, Alfred’s Interiors. Alfred was involved in the furniture and interior design business until his retirement as the manager of the Marge Carson Showroom at the San Francisco Design Center in 1994.

Alfred met the love of his life, Norma Cooper, in 1952 and they were married in 1953. They were happily married for 62 years until Norma’s passing in September of 2015. Together they lived full and happy lives, raising two wonderful children and helping raise three beautiful grandchildren.

Although we feel a profound loss at the passing of our dearest Father, Grandfather and Friend, we are comforted in the belief that Alfred and Norma are once again united.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 4th 2017, at Salem Memorial Park, Colma.
