Don’t blame left
Regarding “Country over politics” (Letters, June 16): The author is wrong on so many levels, where to begin? First, I fully agree with him that our country is filled with so much hate, but strongly disagree about its source. The author says it is coming from the left, which leads me to believe that his sources must only be Fox News or Breitbart News. Nowhere on the left would he find any candidate advocating violence against his opponents, as President Trump has repeatedly done. No one on the left has preached hatred or promoted fear of Mexicans, Muslims and anyone who disagrees with him.
No president has set up his entire Cabinet to fawn over him and flatter him as Trump has cravenly and publicly done. One can only imagine the Golden State Warriors in the White House being required to individually say something nice about the president before being admitted. And, finally, “duly elected”? Did the author miss all the news about the connection between Trump, his supporters and their connections to the Russians hacking our 2016 election? Perhaps he might delay that part of being duly elected until the independent investigation is completed. Marjorie Afterman, Sonoma
