Fascism’s impact

-

Fascism will not come in the form of soldiers storming the palace gates. Rather, it is more likely to be the death of democracy by a thousand cuts, as we and our representatives accept the normalization of bizarre behavior. What is almost as depressing as the Republicans hitching their wagon to the President Trump horse is the Democrats’ failure to charge full speed against them. Why did we not hear charges of, or even recommendations for charges of, contempt of Congress against Attorney General Jeff Sessions when he refused to answer questions without a legal basis to do so?

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has cultural history of the impact of fascism, yet she sat like a deer in the headlights while Sessions flipped the bird to the American people and the Constitution he claims to worship. Trump continues to exhibit clinical symptoms of a sociopathic personality, but we still await some indication that Congress might invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.
