Mary passed away peacefully from natural causes surrounded by family and friends at the Westboroug­h Royale in South San Francisco where she had resided for the past 2 years. At the time of her passing she was 100 years old. Her parents were Marko Frantin and Marija Grandov Frantin. Mary was the loving wife of Chris, who died in 1993. They were married June 18, 1939 at the Church of Nativity in San Francisco, and were both natives of Olib, Croatia, a beautiful island in the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Croatia, which was always a place of cherished memories and close to their hearts. Mary and Chris were longtime residents of San Francisco, living in both the Bayview and Portola neighborho­ods. Mary was a wonderful cook, loved to garden, and hosted many a meal for friends and family. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth’s 50 Plus club for many years and loved to participat­e in their many activities. Chris and Mary traveled after Chris retired, including trips to their beloved Olib. She was preceded in death by her brothers Matt Frantin and John Frantin, and sisters-in-law Yvonne Frantin and Mary Doherty. She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Cathy) and John (Sue), sister-in-law Veronica Frantin, and granddaugh­ters Melissa Segreto (Jesse) and Christina Yahraes (Jeff). She also had the delight of the company of her two great granddaugh­ters Madison (2 years) and Natalie (8 months) before she passed. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, June 21, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co, 4840 Mission St., San Francisco, and at a Funeral Liturgy on Thursday, June 22 at 11:00 AM.
