Anna Alioto Capurro, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2017, at the age of 92. A member of one of the founding families of Fisherman’s Wharf, she was born in San Francisco’s North Beach on October 13, 1924, to her late parents, Frank Alioto and Concetta Balestreri. A graduate of Galileo High School--Class of 1943, and active for many years with Holy Name School and Parish. Beloved wife for 26 years to the late Louis Domenic Capurro.

The matriarch of a large extended Italian family, she will be deeply missed. Loving mother to Paul Capurro (Janice), Frank Capurro (Jenny), Denise Kolvet (Brent), and Janet Capurro. “Nana” to fifteen grandchild­ren: Louis Capurro (Lauren), Nicholas Capurro (Renee), David Morris (Jamie), Matthew Capurro (Emily), Regina Hanson (Ian), Andrew Morris, Ashleigh Shue (Derek), Vincent Capurro, Sara Powell (David), Liana Capurro, Jeffrey Capurro, Will Sizoo, J.R. Sizoo, Elyse Labrucheri­e (Nolan), and Lauren Sizoo. “Bis Nana” to eleven great-grandchild­ren.

Dear sister to Antoinette Canepa and Stephanie Suacci. Preceeded in death by brother Mario Alioto; brothers-in-law John Canepa, Armond Suacci, and Enrico Micheli; and sisters-in-law Norma Alioto and Catherine Micheli. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebrator­y Mass at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert Street, San Francisco, CA 94133. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1500 Old Mission Road, Colma, CA 94014. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Salesian Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco.
