Robert William Matlack (“Bob”)

Robert Matlack was a proud veteran and firefighter, devoted and loving husband to his adoring wife of nearly fourteen years, Ginny Ryan, and cherished dad to Ginny’s children, Susan Tighe (Eugene) and Michael Ryan (April) who he loved dearly as his own. Bob was also survived by the littlest joys in his life, his three adoring granddaughters, Kate, Lily and Kennedy, who affectionately called him “Bob-o.” Bob was preceded in death by his son, Edward Matlack.

Bob was born in New Jersey and eventually made his way to California where he worked proudly as a lieutenant with the San Francisco Fire Department, retiring after 25 years. He spent the last several years of his life with the love of his life, Ginny, enjoying everything life could offer, including travel and quality time with Susan, Michael, their spouses, plus Kate, Lily and Kennedy who filled his heart with so much joy and laughter. His years making meals at the firehouse helped make him a great cook, and a welcoming host. He was a member at Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, and he enjoyed many years of golfing with his good friends there.
