Patricia Kennedy Scott passed away peacefully the morning of May 30, 2017 at her home at Villa Marin in San Rafael, California. Pat was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 13, 1926 to Stanley Carmichael Kennedy and Martha Davenport Kennedy and spent her formative years in Hawaii. In 1929, her father started Inter-Island Airways, which later became Hawaiian Airlines. At the age of three, Pat was among the first passengers to take a scenic flight over Oahu with her parents and older brother. She returned to Honolulu in 2009 to celebrate Hawaiian Airlines’ eightieth anniversary and relive the memory of her first flight by travelling in the restored original plane. She attended Punahou School in Honolulu, the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Connecticut, and graduated from Finch College in New York City with an associate degree. Upon her graduation, she returned to Honolulu and helped with the war efforts by volunteering for the Red Cross. She met Norman Scott, a naval officer recently graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, and they were married in early 1948.

Pat and Norman moved to San Francisco in 1958 and enjoyed an active and full life. They raised their three children in the city and participated in many community and cultural endeavors. Pat was involved with Edgewood, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, The Heritage and The Ethel Walker School. She also enjoyed and supported several San Francisco museums, along with the ballet, opera and symphony.

Pat married David Tirrell in 2003. Together they moved to San Rafael in 2009. They enjoyed travelling together and spending time with family and friends both at their residence and at David’s house in Inverness.

Pat was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and a lively spirit who enjoyed socializing with friends, meeting with her Muffin Ladies and playing an occasional game of bridge. She also liked to play tennis, ski, hike and swim, and was particularly great at dancing the hula!

Pat is survived by her husband, David, her children, Martha Mouer(John), Pam Volkmann(Sandy) and Toby Scott(Kim) along with five grandchildren, Sam Josi(Ashley), Tyler Mouer, Amanda Mouer Drake(Corey); Chris Volkmann, Abby Volkmann; and a great granddaughter, Alison Scott Josi.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Stanley C. Kennedy Jr., and Helen Morimoto, a very special member of the family. Her children would like to thank her caregivers (the 3 E’s), especially Estela Ramirez who was a loyal companion in Pat’s final years.

Donations may be made in Pat’s honor to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1755 Clay St. San Francisco, CA 94109, The Heritage, 3400 Laguna St. San Francisco, CA 94123, or to a charity of your choice.

A celebration of Pat’s life will take place at 2:00pm on June 29, 2017 at Villa Marin, 100 Thorndale Drive, San Rafael, CA.
