William Edward Walz

William E. Walz of Bothell, Washington passed away on June 13, 2017 after suffering a head injury from a severe fall.

Bill was born in Oil City, Pennsylvan­ia on October 2, 1936. He graduated from Ballard High School, Seattle in 1955 and served in the US Marines from 1955-1958 when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant E-4.

Bill made his career in the newspaper industry as an Advertisin­g Executive. He worked for local papers in Phoenix, the San Francisco Bay Area and Bellevue, WA. His is remembered for his love of tennis and sports in general. He had a wonderful sense of humor and through his joyful teasing endeared all who met him. His passion was to read and learn as much as he could about WWII. His respect and honor of all our military heroes was profound.

Bill is survived by his wife, Terry Bergren; his three children Lisa Walz Hersh, Michael Walz, and Kim Virtue; his brother, George Walz; and his grandchild­ren Jared, Randy, Nicole, Stephanie, Wesley; nieces and nephews and the rest of his family.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held on July 8, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at The Rosewood Room in Country Village, Bothell, WA.
