Plant-based diet

- Kecia Talbot, San Rafael

Regarding “Veganism’s next goal: animal-free farming” ( July 23): Three cheers for Sunday’s cover story! Thank you so much for the coverage of this critical issue. The article, however, did not address the benefits to the planet of veganism.

Adopting a plant-based diet is the best way we can all do something to combat climate change. Animal agriculture emits more greenhouse gases and pollution than the whole transit sector combined. We can put the brakes on climate change by going meat- and dairy-free! Remember, real environmentalists don’t eat meat!
