False competition
Thanks for the in-depth article. Tara Duggan wrote: “A common criticism of the vegan movement is that it puts resources toward alleviating animal suffering when so many humans need help.” Yet, we artificially bred these animals into existence so we could derive pleasure from their exploitation and untimely death, so they wouldn’t exist in the first place if it were not to satisfy our own selfish ends. We created this false “competition” between us and them. And we extend that “weaponized” false competition to indigenous species when we take over their habitat or exterminate them to make way for or protect our domesticated animals we raise on pasture.
