Daniel Albert Mac Donneil

February 18, 1973 - June 7, 2017

After waging a fierce battle against cancer with determination, grace and the steadfast support of family members at his side, Daniel Albert Mac Donneil passed away at home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. The youngest of three siblings, Dennis Jr. & David, Dan was the only one born in Novato, CA. Dan attended the Essential School in Novato before transferring to Our Lady of Loretta School, in Novato. He attended St. Vincent High School in Petaluma from which he graduated in 1991. He was active in sports, that included baseball and soccer prior to high school, where he participated in Football and Baseball. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree.

Following high school, Dan played for the Novato Knicks Baseball Team for several years.

Dan went to work for the Party Center in San Rafael. He progressed within the company until he oversaw scheduling, delivery and making certain everything went well. During his travels, in met the love of his life, Nikki Hart. They were married in 2005 at a beautiful site at Buck Eye Point in China State Camp Park in July 2005. Their daughter, Casey Marie, was born on January 16, 2009.

In August 2015, Dan and family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri and settled on a 10-acre farm. In February 2016 Dan was diagnosed with terminal cancer and began treatment. His struggle ended on June 7, 2017 with his family by his side at home.

There will be a public gathering of Dan’s friends and family at Brewster’s Beer Garden and Restaurant on Friday, July 28, starting at 6:00PM. Everyone is invited to attend and share stories about Dan. Also, we’d ask that anyone who can, please write down one of your favorite stories of Dan’s life. These stories will be put in a memory book for his 8-year-old daughter so that she can know all about her Dad’s life.

There will be a memorial Mass for Dan at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Petaluma at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 29th followed by a gathering at the family home in Novato, CA.
