Kevin Michael Davey was born November 30, 1963 in Redwood City, California and is survived by his parents, Marcy (Marcella Reed) and Bill (William) Davey, his two sisters, Lisa Wilson (Kent) and Cheryl Lenci (Craig), daughter Danielle Payne-Davey, grandson Isaiah, first cousin Jim Davey (Julia) four nephews, two nieces, and many 2nd and 3rd cousins. Kevin attended Clifford Elementary School, McKinley Junior High and Serra High School. He then pursued his passion for the outdoors, and moved to Lake Tahoe.

Kevin had multiple talents and spent his life in varying outdoor hobbies and sports competing on motorcycles riding trials, racing sprint cars, boating, fishing, hunting, and water and snow skiing. Kevin worked at Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, was certified with Davey Tree Surgery, and eventually started his own two businesses and became a licensed General Contractor (KDC Construction) and Licensed Home Inspector (Foothill Home Inspection).

When Kevin’s daughter Danielle was in middle school, he decided to move from Redwood City to a slower paced area, and purchased a home in Copperopolis, California. Kevin raised Danielle there and became a grandpa (“Poppop”) to Isaiah. He loved his daughter and grandson so very much. They were his pride and joy!

In his early 40’s Kevin committed to live a clean and healthy life. He worked on his sobriety through the Celebrate Recovery Ministry and made many friends on this journey. He became a faithful servant at church and volunteered at several different ministries, and eventually became Celebrate Recovery leader where he was influential to many. He was passionate about helping people overcome addiction and walking with others through the steps of recovery.

Kevin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, stage IV in the summer of 2016 at 52 years old. He fought the battle hard every single day and never gave up. He kept up with treatment as long as he could endure, in hopes of living longer to see more of his daughter and grandson. He struggled long and hard with the 24/7 pain and complications of the cancer and chemotherapy ever since diagnosis, for approximately 11 months. He had multiple surgical procedures and several hospital visits at different locations, most recently at Stanford Medical Center. We are grateful for the attentive loving care the Stanford Palliative Care team provided Kevin and the family. On June 25, 2017 Kevin passed into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his family at 53 years old, and is finally at peace.

Kevin will be missed by all who knew him and called him family or friend. He had an infectious smile, spicy sense of humor and enjoyed helping others with anything and everything.
