Cheryl Parry, resident of San Mateo, died on July 7, 2017 at the age of 62 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on February 2, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. She moved to California as a child in the 1960’s and graduated Lincoln High School in San Francisco, California in 1973. In 1974 she married Rick Parry and they stated their family life together. Her first job was a reporter for a local newspaper. Cheryl received her Associates degree as a Registered Nurse in 1984 and embarked on a long nursing career with San Mateo County Hospital.

Cheryl was most known for her passion for family, love of vacations and her sense of humor. She often opened her home for holidays and gatherings for family and friends. She became a grandma at the age of 50 and soon retired. Her retirement years were spent with her grandchild­ren and her family.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years Rick Parry, mother Clarine Anderson, sister Suzanne Anderson (Rick), brother Cary Anderson (Teresa), her son Michael Parry (Teri) and daughter Krista Castro (Mauricio). She is also survived by her five grandchild­ren: Mateo, Sienna, Jada, Addison and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her father Doug Anderson. She will be missed and affectiona­tely remembered by many.

Cheryl was laid to rest at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo on July 14, 2017.
