Dominic A. Lucia

Dominic was proceeded in death by his wife of 60 years, June Lucia, his parents Mary and Peter Lucia, as well as his brother Sam Lucia.

Devoted father of John Lucia, Rick Lucia, Cathie Lucia Hawkes (Richard), and Caroline Lucia. Cherished grandfathe­r of Antonio Lucia (Alison). Great grandfathe­r to Joseph and Michael Lucia.

Dominic was born and raised in San Francisco in North Beach. He fought in the D-Day invasion of Normandy on Omaha Beach in World War II. He was a long-term member of the Teamsters Union. His hobbies included restoratio­n of classic cars, including the ownership of his 1931 Ford Model A for over 40 years. He found enjoyment playing his harmonicas, fixing things and watching old-time movies. He also was a builder of car and airplane models, and a collector of antique radios.

Due to his gentle spirit, Dominic was willing to always lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors.

He will be missed greatly by all.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday evening, August 3rd from 5 PM to 8 PM at Crosby N. Gray, 2 Park Rd., Burlingame, CA 94010, and a gathering on Friday morning at 10:30 at Crosby N. Gray, then to graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW, Processing Center, PO Box 8958, Topeka, KS 66608-8958.
