Joan Marie (Malcewicz) Loberg

Joan Marie (Malcewicz) Loberg passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29th surrounded by family. She was the beloved Matriarch of the Loberg clan.

Born March 4, 1931 in Utica, NY to Frank and Stephanie Malcewicz. Graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in SF in 1949, Lone Mountain College in 1953. Joan married her college sweetheart and love of her life, Robert F. Loberg, in 1953.

Predecease­d by her husband Robert in 1993 and son Richard in 2010. Survived by sons: Jon (Danielle), Larry (Teresa), Rocky (Claudia), Greg (Terri), Erik (Kathy) and her favorite daughter Jerilyn Tidwell (Jerry), 16 grandchild­ren and 7 great grandchild­ren.

She was proud of her Polish heritage and she had a lifelong love of nursing. She retired as an Occupation­al Nurse from Chevron.

She loved being a mother and grandmothe­r. She was a volunteer for countless school activities, Little League, a Voting/Election poll worker and numerous other organizati­ons. She attended hundreds of sporting events cheering on her family. She loved her gardening, swimming in her pool and travelling, Africa being one of her favorite places. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

The family would like to express their thanks to Heartland Hospice.

Funeral service will be Friday, August 4 at 11:00 am at St. Isabella’s Church, 1 Trinity Way, San Rafael CA with a reception to follow at St. Isabella’s Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s name to St. Vincent School for Boys.
