An Inconvenie­nt Sequel: Former Vice President Al Gore updates us on the status of climate change since his Academy Award-winning documentar­y “An Inconvenie­nt Truth.” Brigsby Bear: Kyle Mooney of “Saturday Night Live” fame co-wrote and stars in this comedy-drama about a man who was kidnapped as a baby and whose world revolves around a fictional TV show about the titular bear, concocted by his kidnapper parents. Among the producers are Berkeley High pals Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. The Dark Tower: This science fiction Western stars Idris Elba as the Gunslinger and Matthew McConaughe­y as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must stop the Man in Black from destroying the tower that supposedly holds the key to the universe. Kidnap: There’s no wrath like a mother whose son has been kidnapped: Halle Berry will stop at nothing to get back her child in this thriller. Person to Person: One of those omnibus day-in-the-life films, this one takes place in New York City and stars Michael Cera and Abbi Jacobson. Some Freaks: Two outsiders, a boy with one eye and a plussize girl, start a romance their senior year of high school, but when he visits her on the West Coast where she goes to college, she has changed her appearance and their relationsh­ip is tested. Step: This documentar­y takes a look at the senior year of a girls’ step dance team from Baltimore’s inner city. The Untamed: This Mexican sci-fi horror story deals with an unhappy married couple who find a meteorite and a creature that may or may not be benevolent. Directed by Amat Escalante, who won a Cannes best director award for his 2013 film “Heli.”
