-

Anne Josephine Davidson (Nee-Symington) passed away peacefully in her Moraga home on July 27th 2017 from Natural Causes. Anne was a Native San Franciscan. Anne is survived by her son Mark Davidson and her Daughter Lisa Davidson-Rowe as well as her Daughter-In-Law of 35 Years Linda ZimmermanDavidson. Grandchildren Samantha, Jessica and Matthew as well as John Rowe. Her Loving Husband Robert predeceased her one November 21, 2015.

Born to Raymond Symington and Delia Symington (Nee-Connelly) who was born in County Roscommon Ireland. Anne was raised in the Mission and Ingleside Districts and attended Junipero Serra, James Middle, and Balboa High School. Anne enjoyed Travel and in her early years she spent Summers in Boulder Creek (Forrest Pool). During her 59 year marriage to Robert Cyril Davidson she enjoyed Summers at “Paradise Park” in Kenwood (where they met Joan and Jerry Piazza) who would remain lifelong friends. She also enjoyed many trips with her husband Robert to Carmel, Hawaii and other destinations. With her son Mark and his wife Linda she experienced Europe on two occasions visiting many parts of France (she loved Paris), Monoco, Italy, and of course her beloved Ireland.

Anne met the “Love of Her Life” Robert Cyril Davidson in 1954 while working as a “PBX Operator” for Loyalty Insurance Group in San Francisco. Robert was an Attorney for the firm. They married on July 27, 1956 in Santa Rosa. Ironically, she passed on this same date - what would have been their Sixty-First - 61st - Wedding Anniversary! We feel that Robert “Bob” (aka “Dad” and “Grandpa”) came to get her so they could continue their journey!

Anne also loved her San Francisco Sports Teams: The Giants, Warriors, and especially her beloved 49ers for whom she never missed rooting for Joe Montana and Company!. She had a real joy of Music. She especially loved dancing with her husband to Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, Dionne Warwick and many others. She had the “Irish Jig” love of Dance in her soul!

Anne returned to work in 1973 with Bullock’s Department Store in Walnut Creek as a “PBX Operator”. But Anne was ambitious and quickly climbed the ranks to become “Executive Assistant”. She certainly will be remembered for her “Irish Spirit” as well as her “Quick Wit and Sense of Humor!” Anne retired in 1984 and became a dedicated Grandmother to her three Grandchildren - Never missing a Friday Night with them for 15 years visiting them in Orinda, Lafayette, and Diablo Country Club (she would do Everything and Anything) for Family! She is already being sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know her!

God Bless and Godspeed to her and may she Always Rest In Peace!

Anne will be Laid to Rest on August 11th at 12:00pm at Queen Of The Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Road, Lafayette, CA. Robert’s ashes will join Anne for their next journey. A “Celebration of Her Life” will follow at 1:30pm and be held at The Moraga Country Club. Close friends are invited to attend!

In Lieu of Flowers Anne requests Donations to “ARF” (Animal Rescue Foundation). Website: ARFLife.Org
