Joe Schram, long-time resident of Los Altos, passed away on August 1, 2017, at the age of 86. He had been battling diabetes for many years. Joe was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Louis Schram and Gertrude Tatro Schram. He attended St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and married Anne Knoerle in 1952. Joe and Anne moved to Los Altos in 1959.

Shortly after moving to California, Joe started his own business in editorial and marketing services. He touched countless lives in the community through his involvemen­t in the athletic programs at St. Simon School in Los Altos and St. Francis High School in Mountain View.

Joe is survived by his children Jay Schram, Mary Jeanne Miller (Eric), Tom Schram, Libby Schram, and Susie Gendel, by his grandchild­ren Amy, Drew, Lea, Ross, Kevin, Rose, and Lillie, and by his brother James and sister Margaret Mary. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne, by grandchild­ren Greg and Jake, and by brothers Robert and ,illiam.

Joe leaves a legacy of coaching, mentoring, and friendship, and will be forever missed.

A visitation will be held Tues. August 8th at 5:30 PM, followed by a Vigil Service at 6:30 PM at St. Simon Church, 1860 Grant Road, Los Altos. Funeral Mass will also be held at St. Simon Church, on ,ednesday, August 9th at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception at St. Francis High School Alumni (Raskob) Gymnasium, 1885 Miramonte Avenue, Mt.
