5. What to eat

Whether it’s Nepalese Dumplings from Bini’s Kitchen or the Best Damn Cheeseburger by 4505 Meats, morning buns by Tartine Manufactory or cookie dough pretzel ice cream by Smitten, there’s no shortage of incredible things to put in your mouth. There’s also plenty of wine, beer, cocktails, chocolate and cheese to wash it down. Need help choosing the best bites? Check out recommendations from Chronicle food and drink reporter Esther Mobley.

Also, don’t miss Gastromagic’s appetizing lineup featuring Bouncin’ for Beignets with Big Freedia on Friday, Riding Shotgun with Roy Choi on Saturday and An Annotated Guide to Eating Well with Action Bronson on Sunday.

6. The App

Outside Lands can feel a little overwhelming, so technology is here to help. Download the official Outside Lands app for the latest festival updates, a detailed map of the grounds and a friend-finder function.

7. Transportation

Parking in and around the festival is extremely limited. If you can’t walk or take a bike (your best options), use public transportation. Muni lines N, 1, 5, 7, 28, 29, 31, and 38 will get you close enough to the festival site in Golden Gate Park. Outside Lands also offers a shuttle service from Civic Center BART Station.

8. Watch from home

Verizon’s Go90 platform provides a live stream. You don’t need to be a Verizon subscriber, but you do need to download the free Go90 app.
