TECH-TETHERED SCREEN JOCKEY

-

The always perpetually scanning onlinethe horizon traveler for who’sa place to plug in, work quietly and talk on the phone loudly, and for whom a dead zone is worse than death. He or she is not there for the frills, just the next flight, decent coffee or cocktails and a healthy, locally sourced meal that can be expensed.

EAT: Napa Farms Market 7 is, essentially, an entire Whole Foods compacted to the size of a 7-Eleven. A host of organic and healthy options, including a hot-food counter, local juices, premade sandwiches and sushi for taking on the plane and, if actual eating would be too distracting from what’s flashing across your iPhone 7 Plus, there’s a bar in the middle. Sit, drink, and code. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 post-security.

SHOP:ket is consumersWhile Brookstone’swho want to 8 think main mark they’re more techie than they are, the fact is the store carries anything you would need to turn a laptop and a Tumi bag into a full-time mobile office. International Terminal, Main Hall, pre-security.

DIVERSION:your mobile device,If you’re you that don’t obsessed withreally want a diversion. What you want is a cool “openoffice” work space, plenty of plugs, less passenger traffic and coffee and juice drinks served up with a Millennial vibe. You want Joe & the Juice 9. It’s at the dead end of the International Terminal, so it’s not as busy as other lounge-like spots. International Terminal, near Gate G101, post-security.

HANGOUT: The Centurion Lounge 0 is the only airport lounge that regular Joes can buy into. Regular Joes with an Amex card, anyway. If you have a Platinum American Express, you’re welcome to drop in, have a drink, use the Wi-Fi, grab a meal and take a shower. However, if you’re willing to put up $50, any Amex card holder can do the same thing. If you’ve got a long wait, it might well be worth it (especially if you can expense it). Terminal 3, near Gate 74, post-security.

DRUG OF CHOICE: Electrical current. The tables and couches near Tapas and Taps ! in the International Terminal (pre-security) are a hive of electrical outlets. Get out the chargers and drink up. International Terminal, Main Hall, pre-security.
