The Bay Area is gearing up for a series of political events this weekend that have law enforcemen­t authoritie­s on edge, including far-right rallies in San Francisco and Berkeley and a number of counterdem­onstration­s.

Interfaith gathering: An interfaith gathering in response to the Patriot Prayer rally in San Francisco on Saturday and the No Marxism in Berkeley rally on Sunday. The gathering takes place from noon to 2 p.m. at Grace Cathedral, 1100 California St. in San Francisco.

Flower power: Counterpro­testers plan to march to the Patriot Prayer rally at Crissy Field and distribute flowers to attendees to “meet their hatred with flowers for their hair.” Meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Ralston Memorial Statue on the Marina Green.
