Janet D. See

-

Janet died peacefully on September 26, 2017 with her husband Bill by her side. On September 10, 2017, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In addition to her husband, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was born in New Rochelle, New York on August 25, 1936 to Charles and Maria D’Onofrio, the youngest of their six children. She attended public schools in New Rochelle, graduating from high school in 1954. She went on to study at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University, graduating in 1958.

Janet had a very rewarding career in Human Resources with several Bay Area firms. Starting in 1980, she spent three years in London, where Wells Fargo had assigned Bill. In 1986, they again moved out of California to the Cayman Islands, returning in 1988. Living overseas was the capstone of a lifetime love of travel, vowing at one time to see the whole world. She and Bill retired in 1990 to concentrate on the good things of life.

Wherever she lived, Janet loved to entertain their friends and she became a wonderful cook in the process. Her beautiful smile lit up every room she entered.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ross, CA and a reception in the Parish Hall will follow. All are welcome. Contributions to St. John’s or Hospice by the Bay would be greatly appreciated. Assisted by Monte’s Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
