Mavericks’ Curry out with left leg injury

-

Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a stress reaction of his left tibia.

The Mavericks said Saturday that no timetable has been set for his return and that he would be re-evaluated weekly.

Curry, the younger brother of Warriors guard Stephen Curry, emerged as a threepoint shooting threat for the Mavericks last season.

Seth Curry started 42 of his 70 games for Dallas last season and shot 43 percent from three-point range while averaging 12.8 points per game. Curry, 27, is going into the second year of a two-year deal with the Mavericks.

Atlanta waived guards John Jenkins and Jordan Mathews. Both players were signed in late September to compete for a spot, but DeAndre Bembry has improved faster than expected from a triceps injury.

Jenkins spent three seasons with the Hawks as a firstround pick in 2012. Mathews is an undrafted rookie who played at Cal and Gonzaga.
