Ronald K. Goode, born in San Francisco on May 27, 1932, passed away peacefully at home in Napa, on September 14, 2017.

An extremely talented baseball pitcher at Santa Rosa High School, Ron was signed immediately after graduation by the NY Yankee’s farm team, playing and winning constantly which resulted in a careerending arm injury. After serving in the Korean War, Ron returned to Santa Rosa to work at G.K. Hart as a car salesman and quickly became sales manager. In 1964, Ron opened a Rambler dealership in Alameda. He became a prominent Bay Area business man, subsequently opening the first Toyota dealership in Northern California in 1968. His flagship store in Alameda was regularly a national sales leader for Toyota. After selling his Alameda dealership to his son Len, Ron went to Marin County in the early 1980’s and owned and operated R&G Toyota, Infinity and Volvo, where he worked until retirement.

Ron was a determined, persistent and successful man. Always with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his blue eyes, Ron loved life and people. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Gail Ferrari Ellison Goode, his sons Leonard and Kenneth, his stepson Michael Ellison (wife Barbara); his grandchildren – Ken’s children Elizabeth and Michael, and Len’s sons Dylan and Matthew (and their mother Anna); and stepgrandchildren -- Alexandra and Rob Ellison, and Baylor, Brolin and Braun Cook. He was predeceased by his late wife, Virginia Bettencourt Goode.
