-

Carl Milton Larkin was born on 8/9/25 in Angels Camp, CA. He passed away peacefully at home in Shasta, CA on 9/28/17 surrounded by his loving family.

He spent many of his formative years in San Francisco, the city he loved so dearly. He found his passion for the sea at the age of 16 as an ordinary seaman. He graduated from The Maritime Academy in Alameda in 1946. He was promoted through the ranks and became a Captain for American President Lines where he spent the major part of his career; retiring as Marine Superintendent in 1987.

He was an exceptional father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend, and colleague. Those who knew him recognized him for his honesty, quick wit, superb sense of humor, intellect, loyalty, eidetic memory and his endless curiosity.

In his later life he enjoyed 17 years of rich companionship with his dearest and most beloved friend Marianne Olstad.

He is survived by his four daughters; Kathleen Ann Larkin-Kuehn, Laura Larkin, Joan Marie Murphy, and Jeanine Homich; grandchildren, Matthew Kuehn, Erica Dafoe, Alyson Cummings, Noemi Watts, Errin Daly, Kate Ellen Murphy, Joseph Corsini, Patrick Murphy, Michael Corsini, Spencer Homich, Natalie Corsini, Carl Corsini, and greatgrandchildren Larkin Daly, Ellen Cummings, Kennedy Leonard Daly, John Cummings and Lucy Corsini and more on the way!
