Trent Johnson

The former Stanford men’s basketball coach has been asked to help stabilize Louisville’s program in the wake of a bribery scandal that will cost Rick Pitino his job. Johnson, who coached the Cardinal from 2004 through ’08 and TCU from 2012 through ’16, was hired as an assistant to Louisville interim head coach David Padgett. “I’m ready to do whatever coach wants me to do,” said Johnson, who was 276-264 as a head coach, including 80-48 at Stanford. “I’ve known Coach a long, long time, but nothing surprises me because his maturity when he was 18 and I was 30 was so impressive.”

Who would have thought that the most decorated Olympian in history has suffered from anxiety, depression and being bullied? The swimmer who won 28 Olympic medals appears in a documentary film, “Angst,” which will be distributed to schools and community centers to raise awareness about anxiety disorders, the most common mental health challenge in the U.S. “Once I opened up about that and things that I had kept inside of me for so many years, I then found that life was a lot easier,” Phelps says in the film. “I got to the point where I understood that it’s OK to not be OK.”
