Blood Money: John Cusack stars as a white-collar criminal trying to get back his money in what some are calling a retelling of “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.”

The Florida Project: Sean Baker of “Tangerine” fame directed this movie that takes place near Disney World over one summer and follows a mischievou­s 6-year-old who also bonds with her mother.

The Foreigner: Jackie Chan plays a man who seeks to avenge the death of his daughter. Also stars Pierce Brosnan.

Happy Death Day: A young woman keeps reliving the day of her death as she tries to find out who murdered her.

Marshall: Chadwick Boseman, who has starred as Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Marvel’s the Black Panther, plays future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall in a case that will define his career. Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us” and “The People v. O.J. Simpson”) plays the man wrongly accused of raping a socialite (Kate Hudson). Dan Stevens, who seems to be in everything this year, also has a part as a prosecutor.

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected): Already on Netflix (Nov. 9), this movie gets a limited big-screen run. Written and directed by Noah Baumbach, this comedy is about an estranged family that comes to New York as their father gets honored for his artwork. Among the allstar cast are Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Grace Van Patten and Elizabeth Marvel. Look out for cameo appearance­s.

The Pathologic­al Optimist: A documentar­y that follows anti-vaccine activist Dr. Andrew Wakefield as he pursues a defamation suit against the British Medical Journal and journalist Brian Deer.

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women: Biopic starring Luke Evans as the creator of Wonder Woman, who also has an unusual relationsh­ip with his wife (Rebecca Hall) and mistress (Bella Heathcote).

Take Every Wave: The Life of Laird Hamilton: Documentar­y about the pioneer in the sport of big-wave surfing. Wasted: This documentar­y explores why 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted every year.
