Hometown show for dream-pop diva

- — Aidin Vaziri

As the lead singer of Mazzy Star, Hope Sandoval was one of the defining voices of the 1990s. She keeps the dream-pop vibes going with her latest project, the Warm Inventions, which features My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm O’Ciosoig.

The group recently released a new EP, “Son of a Lady,” the follow-up to last year’s full-length, “Until the Hunter,” and that’s reason enough to get back on stage to play its low-key, slightly twangy late-night ballads.

Sandoval performs a hometown show at the UC Theatre in Berkeley on Friday, Oct. 13.
