Feliciano might get another start

Right guard Gabe Jackson, still nursing a foot injury, remained limited in practice Thursday. But offensive coordinator Todd Downing sounded confident in Jon Feliciano, who replaced Jackson, if he is needed to start his second game in a row.

“Jon did a great job,” Downing said. “He brings a tenacity and effort that I think a lot of teams would like to have. Seeing him out there and playing as hard as he did, and being able to grasp the game plan and prepare as a backup center and a guard and be so well-rounded, showed his versatility.”

Feliciano was part of the effort Sunday that helped the running game gain more than 100 yards for the first time in three weeks.

Downing said the running game was “a step in the right direction . ... We’re excited about the way that’s trending.”

When asked if he was concerned about the offense, he said, “I wouldn’t call it concerned. I’d call it a continued attention to detail. We’re not concerned. Obviously, we’d like to have better results over the last three weeks, but it doesn’t change our belief or our resolve in what we’re doing.”

Injury update: First-round draft pick Gareon Conley (shin) again did not participate in practice. Neither did cornerback Antonio Hamilton (knee), linebacker Marquel Lee (ankle) and fullback Jamize Olawale (concussion). Among those limited were quarterback Derek Carr (back), linebacker Cory James (knee), tight end Lee Smith (knee), running back DeAndre Washington (hamstring), receiver Amari Cooper (knee) and David Amerson (knee). Relief for Mexico: The Raiders joined the NFL, Patriots and Steelers in contributing a combined $200,000 to support disaster-relief efforts following last month’s earthquake in Mexico City.

Oakland will host the Patriots at Estadio Azteca on Nov. 19.

The money will go to the Banorte bank company’s Fundación Banorte, which is involved with relief efforts. It will match these donations dollar for dollar.
