It is with utmost sadness we share the passing of Hazel Louise Davies, age 90 years, on October 8, 2017. Born in Jerome, ID, August 18, 1927, the only daughter of Rex J. and Mary V. Note. She moved to Palo Alto, CA with her family in 1941; graduated from East Palo Alto High School in 1946. Hazel met her husband, Ed, while working for Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after 42 years. Her adventurou­s spirit took her to China, Poland, Russia, the Bahamas, and cruising the Snake River, Alaska, and Hawaii. Hazel was an amazingly strong woman who learned to drive at the age of 70 after moving from San Francisco to Roseville CA. She was utterly devoted to her family and often cheered for her granddaugh­ters during their many activities. Her favorite things were reading, coin collecting, and watching the SF Giants and 49ers. Past Bethel Guardian, Job’s Daughters Bethel #198, Daly City, and member of Golden Gate Chapter #1, Order of the Easter Star, San Francisco. Predecease­d by her husband, Edward Davies; her four brothers Raymond Rex, Harry (Bud) Sumner, Roger, and Gerald Note; sister-in-laws Frances and D’Ann Note. Survived by sister-in-laws Ruth and Audree Note of Medford, OR, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Beloved mother of Sandra (Tim) Phillimean­o and grandmothe­r of Patricia and Kelsey. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 11:00AM - 12:00PM at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA, 916-725-2109), and are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 1:00PM at Siskiyou Memorial Park (2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR 97504).
