Richard Leonard, Jr.

-

Richard Leonard, Jr., was born May 25, 1953 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, and entered the hereafter on October 10, 2017. Loving family who preceded Richard in life’s final journey were: Karen, his devoted wife of 29 years; father, Richard Leonard, Sr; mother, Betty Stone; sister Diane; brother David; and nephew Tyler. Richard is survived by numerous cousins and nieces, including: Lisa, Steve, Stacy, Eric; and, great niece and nephews, Jaden, Aubrey, Talya, Geneva and Alexis.

With an infectious smile and quick wit, Richard welcomed and warmed the hearts of all who had the pleasure of his company. He loved to work on his father’s classic cars as a teenager; and was always up for any challenging task, including as a volunteer firefighter and working at the US Coast Guard station in Petaluma, and numerous other community-support groups.

Becoming more independent in recent years, Richard particularly enjoyed sharing his warm smile and cheerful spirit with all those he helped as a resident volunteer at the Santa Rosa Post-Acute Care facility. The family greatly appreciates the excellent and loving care provided by most-treasured loved ones, including Marty Labagh, Lisa Labagh, Shelly Napoleon and Gary Watrin.

As his love for our Lord gave him comfort each and every day, friends and family are invited to a celebration of Richard’s life, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, including: 10:00am Viewing at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City; followed at 11:00am by a memorial Mass at St. Thomas More Church, 1300 Junipero Serra Blvd., San Francisco. Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
