Along with her husband, Deacon Frank, she was a founding member of St. Augustine parish, working on the Building Committee, in Faith Formation, Ladies Guild, the choir, Worldwide Marriage Encounter, and Spiritual Direction. She participated enthusiastically with her husband in the Deaconate program, and was deservedly proud when Deacon Frank was ordained in 1995. She was the first employee hired at Mercy Center, the Administrative Assistant to the Center Director. She worked at the Center for 25 years, including her time as a volunteer. She provided logistical and emotional support to many programs, including Spiritual Direction Formation, Centering Prayer, and others. She helped presenters and attendees to have the best experience possible from the programs she served. She sat on the Finance Committee. She was very active with the Mercy Associates, and loved working and spending time with them.

Sharon is survived by her children Michele Grinnell, Mark, Mitchell, Marshall, Meredith and Martin Almeida; her daughtersin-law Joan and Marie Almeida and Leticia Silva, and Matthew’s partner Edward Navarro. Beloved grandchildren Brian, Sean, Cassandra, Andrea, Frank, Lindsey, Jessica, Taylor, Sofia and Karina, ten greatgrandchildren and many other family and friends.

Sharon loved spending time in her garden and had a passion for movies, especially Broadway musicals. She always dressed her best, down to the shoes matching her purse. In her younger days she participated in local theatre, everything from small parts to starring roles. Over the years she tried her hands at many artistic pursuits, including pottery and painting. She loved spending time at Russian River, sunning and swimming. She loved cooking and setting a beautiful table, and was always happiest sharing meals with friends and family. Her home was always as open as her heart, and she shared her wisdom and grace freely with all who came there.
