New homes in Calistoga overlook Wine Country landscape
The iconic Four Seasons resort is coming to Napa Valley, and a precious few slots remain for those who want to own homes on the lavish complex. A total of 20 single-family luxury homes are slated to be built atop the Wine Country landscape with the majority of the plots already claimed.
Located in a triangular lot off the Silverado Trail, the development rests in scenic Calistoga, a quiet community of only a few thousand people. Construction is already well underway, and the homes are scheduled to be completed late in 2018. The resort itself will open its doors in 2019.
Bald Mountain Development leads the initiative. The Aspen-based boutique resort development firm’s portfolio includes the Hyatt Grand Aspen and the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico. Bald Mountain lead the acquisition and entitlement of this Calistoga resort project, and the company oversees the day-to-day design and construction of the Four Seasons Napa Valley.
A Cabernet vineyard will accent the landscape, with esteemed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown educating guests and residents
about viticulture. Josh Clark’s vineyard management team will oversee the vineyard’s daily operation, with Brown working on the finished product.
Brown has worked at Turley, Chiarello, Schrader and Nicholson Ranch wineries, and he is the youngest winemaker in history to receive a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker.
The private residences will appear as luxury farmhouses with board and batten siding. Earth-tone colors complement the natural material palette and the bucolic surroundings. The homes will boast private terraces framing sunrises over the palisades. Erin Martin Design provides the inspiration for interiors that are elegant yet understated.
Each of the 20 private homes will feature a pair of master bedrooms, five-fixture bathrooms, walk-in closets and an owner’s wine cellar. The open floor plan incorporates a
dining area amid the great room and the homes feature covered outdoor terraces amid the vineyard setting.
Of course, residents and guests alike will enjoy the world-class service and amenities the Four Seasons is famous for.
Though residents will own the home full-time, the Four Seasons Napa allows them to temporarily rent out their units to other guests. With short-term rentals in short supply in Calistoga, the Four Seasons Napa offers guests an option for income.
