Donald Lee Babbitt

Donald Lee Babbitt passed away on Monday Oct 9, 2017 unexpected­ly from melanoma. He touched many with his vibrant spirit and his love for homebuildi­ng and teaching.

Donald was born in San Diego, CA. He moved up to the Bay Area when he was four years old and graduated from Dublin High School. He earned a degree in Civil Engineerin­g from San Jose State and his Master’s in Business Administra­tion from St. Mary’s College in Moraga. Donald was involved in the Home Building Industry. He loved building homes. He was an Entreprene­ur. He had his own businesses for 30 years. He was a licensed Civil Engineer, Broker and Contractor. He was a member of the CA Home Building Foundation. He was involved in the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Dublin Rotary Club. He enjoyed working with youth. He was involved with Boy Scouts and coached Little League Baseball for 21 years and Dublin High JV Baseball. He enjoyed golfing, reading, family, his dogs and teaching the younger generation­s about life.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Gilbert) Babbitt of 39 years; devoted sons Chase S Babbitt of Dublin, CA, Kyle A Babbitt (Jennifer) of Livermore, CA and granddaugh­ter Nora R Babbitt. He is also survived by his mother, Sandra L Babbitt and two brothers Gregg L Babbitt (Kim) and Christophe­r N Babbitt, all of CA. He is survived by a sister-in-law and two brother-in-laws, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Lee Allen Babbitt and brother Michael Steven Babbitt. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all that knew him.

Friends and family are invited to attend “Don’s Celebratio­n of Life” on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 1:30pm, at Castlewood Country Club, Pleasanton, CA. Burial will be private at Oakmont Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, CA.
