Mary A. Flodin

-

Mary Annette Flodin led a good life. Mary was born in Seattle, WA. to Pearl and Al Flodin. She enjoyed her tween and teen years growing up and attending Mt. Diablo High in Concord, CA. After graduating with honors she attended the University of San Francisco and became charge nurse of McAuley Neuropsychiatric Clinic in St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco.

In 1969 her only, and much beloved brother, Dick, married Sherrey Walker. They had twins - Erik Christopher and Stefanie Nicole. Much of Mary’s adult life revolved around these two kids. She was proud to be their Auntie.

Oh! We missed 1967. A very important year. That’s when Mary met Nancy. Two very different women who shared the same basic beliefs. 50 years later they remain together as BFFs until Mary’s death and beyond. Mary’s work in the travel industry gave them the opportunity to travel to 19 countries and 39 states.

Mary is very proud to also have a Grand Niece, Elizabeth Mary Niland. Stef, a physical therapist fell in love with an Irish boy, Stephen, and the 3 of them live happily in Dublin, Ireland. Erik became an electrical engineer and S.T.E.M. teacher in Spokane, WA. Mary has always treasured all of her family members and friends.

A Celebration of Mary’s life has not yet been scheduled. Donations in memory of Mary to a children’s charity would be appreciated.
