Lilia Bonardi

April 8, 1926 – October 26, 2017

-

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Natale Bonardi. Lilia, 91, is survived by her two sons: Frank (Barbara) and David (Jeannie); and grandchildren, Nicholas, Chiara (Schlegel), Tosca (Pinder), Gina and Christian Bonardi.

Her journey in life started in San Francisco, CA where she lived for the first two years of her life. At the age of two, her family relocated to a small village in Northern Italy (Ferno) where she spent the rest of her childhood. After marrying Natale, they both returned to San Francisco, and set up a partnership that lasted 58 years until his death. Lilia divided her time between raising her family and working for the Royal Macaroni Company.

Lilia’s life was centered on having a strong work ethic, a clear morale sense, being devoted to her family and friends, and a passion for baking. Lilia will be fondly remembered as a person who would always help a friend in need. She was always baking some cookies or a cake to take to someone. Deep down she always felt that when a person ate her cookies or cakes, it cured whatever ailed them. In her own way, Lilia provided a kind and loving service to many people during her lifetime. She will truly be missed.

In her final years her life was greatly comforted by her caregivers Maria Ramirez, and Louie Fe Castillano. There will be a private family ceremony on November 7th at the Italian Cemetery in Colma, CA.
