Oregon’s Ionescu has triple-double

Former Miramonte-Orinda guard Sabrina Ionescu had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for her fifth career triple-double as the host Ducks (2-0) won in the second round of the preseason WNIT. Ionescu, a sophomore, is just one away from the Pac-12 career record of six, set by Nicole Powell (Stanford, 2001-04) and two shy of the NCAA mark of seven by Suzie McConnell (Penn State, 198588) and Louella Tomlinson (St. Mary’s, 2008-11).

#2 Texas 95, Stetson 59:

Lashann Higgs scored 18 points scored 14 for the host Longhorns (1-0).

#3 Baylor 100, Coppin State 54:

Kalani Brown had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the host Bears (2-0).

#9 Louisville 95, #5 Ohio State 90:

Asia Durr scored a career-high 47 points, including 13 of her team’s 15 in overtime, to lead the visiting Cardinals (2-0) over the Buckeyes (1-1). Durr’s jumper with 3:27 remaining in overtime and her three-pointer a possession later put the Cardinals ahead 87-83, which ended up being a decisive blow. Ohio State do-it-all guard Kelsey Mitchell struggled early but finished with 26 points. The Buckeyes had blown out No. 10 Stanford 85-64 on Friday night.

#8 UCLA 76, Presbyteri­an 40:

Monique Billings scored 12 points, Kennedy Burke added 11, and the balanced Bruins (2-0) routed the visiting Blue Hose (0-2). UCLA was coming off a 60-point win against San Jose State in its opener.

St. Mary’s 81, Washington St. 75:

Megan McKay had game highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds for the host Gaels (1-1), who rebounded from a loss at Cal on Friday night. Stella Beck added 17 points and six assists. Alexys Swedlund led the Cougars (0-2) with 20 points.
