11 upcoming films to keep an eye on

We’ll see what happens when it happens, but from a short distance, these upcoming releases look interestin­g (dates are subject to change):

Chappaquid­dick (TBA): Jason Clarke stars as Ted Kennedy in the dramatic depiction of the incident that led to a woman’s death and almost ended Kennedy’s career.

Darkest Hour (Nov. 22): Gary Oldman plays Winston Churchill, in this story of Britain’s darkest and finest hour, the stretch of months when the country had to go it alone against Germany in World War II.

Porto (TBA): Lucie Lucas and the late Anton Yelchin in a romantic drama set in the Portuguese city.

Wonder Wheel (Nov. 30): The new Woody Allen movie, set at Coney Island in the 1960s and starring Juno Temple and Kate Winslet.

I, Tonya (TBA): Margot Robbie stars as Tonya Harding, the champion ice skater, whose rivalry with fellow skater Nancy Kerrigan led to violence.

Gotti (TBA): John Travolta stars as the Dapper Don, the notorious gangster who murdered his way to the top in 1980s New York.

The Post (Dec. 22): Tom Hanks is editor Ben Bradlee and Meryl Streep is publisher Katharine Graham in this story of the Washington Post’s involvemen­t in the Pentagon Papers expose.

Molly’s Game (Dec. 25): Jessica Chastain stars as Molly Bloom, who ran an illegal high-stakes poker game for a decade.

Phantom Thread (TBA): Set in the 1950s fashion world, it’s the latest collaborat­ion between Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis.

The Commuter (Jan. 12): Liam Neeson is just an average commuter, but they make a big mistake of making the big guy angry, in this action thriller for Jaume Collet-Serra (“The Unknown,” “Non-Stop”).

Proud Mary (Jan. 12): Taraji P. Henson as a hit woman working for a crime family in Boston. Even if it’s bad ... how bad could it be?
