Sutro’s at the Cliff House: Yes, it verges on overpriced, but the oneof-a-kind location and its memorable view make the Cliff House worth consideration for special occasions like Thanksgiving. 1090 Point Lobos Ave. Lunch and dinner. The Stinking Rose: San Francisco still follows its nose to the Stinking Rose, and as Chronicle reviewer Anna Roth discovered last year, it’s still a decent time if you don’t take yourself too seriously. 325 Columbus Ave. Lunch and dinner.

Tosca Cafe: Another North Beach classic, Tosca will be open on Thursday evening, serving up April Bloomfield’s hearty interpretations of old-school Italian fare. 242 Columbus Ave. Dinner only.

Trou Normand: Charcuterie and cocktails are the draw at this SoMa restaurant and bar, open throughout the day, but the dinner menu also features steaks and sausages. 140 New Montgomery St. Lunch and dinner.
