-

Lirim Hajrullahu kicked a 32-yard field goal with 49 seconds left as the Toronto Argonauts beat the Calgary Stampeders 27-24 in the Canadian Football League’s 105th Grey Cup.

Amid blizzard conditions in Ottawa, Toronto tied the title game with 4:35 to go on Cassius Vaughn’s 109-yard fumble return and Ricky Ray’s two-point conversion pass to Declan Cross.

“We got to the fourth quarter, that was our goal — to get to the fourth quarter and be in a competitive game against a really good football team,” Argonauts coach and former 49ers offensive coordinator Marc Trestman said.

The Stampeders led the CFL in the regular season with a 13-4-1 record, while Toronto went just 9-9. But Toronto won its record-extending 17th championship, and the 38-year-old Ray became the first starting quarterback to win four Grey Cup titles. Tennis: Host France won the Davis Cup for the first time in 16 years by beating Belgium 3-2. Lucas Pouille’s 6-3, 6-1, 6-0 win over Steve Darcis in the second reverse singles in Lille gave France its 10th Davis Cup title, ending a run of three losses in finals.

France joined Britain in third place on the list for the most Davis Cup titles, behind the United States (32) and Australia (28). Motor sports: Valtteri Bottas won the seasonending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from pole position, beating Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, who wrapped up the Formula One championship two races before, by 4 seconds. Golf: Wade Ormsby shot a 2-under-par 68 to finish at 12 under and win the Hong Kong Open for his first European Tour win. Rafa Cabrera Bello missed a difficult par putt that would have forced a playoff.
