A’s add 3 minor-leaguers: 2 outfielders and reliever
The A’s signed two longtime Cardinals prospects, Anthony Garcia, a righthanded hitting outfielder, and Nick Martini, a left-handed hitting outfielder, to minor-league deals Tuesday. Both will be invited to big-league spring training.
Garcia, 25, hit .294 at Double-A Springfield with 15 homers and 69 RBIs but hit .179 with one homer and three RBIs in 14 games at Triple-A. He was an 18th-round pick as a 17-year-old out of San Juan Educational School in Puerto Rico.
Martini, 27, a seventh-round pick from Kansas State in 2011, hit .303 in 98 games at Triple-A Memphis and drove in 70 runs combined between two levels.
In addition, the A’s gave a minorleague deal to left-hander Jarret Martin, who pitched in 37 games and compiled a 2.04 ERA for the Giants’ Double-A Richmond team last year after signing with the team in June. Martin, 28, was an 18thround pick by the Orioles in 2009 from Bakersfield College.

The Yankees will interview Carlos Beltran for their managerial opening Wednesday. He’ll be the sixth person, including Giants bench coach Hensley Meulens, to interview for the position.
Beltran, 40, retired this month after a 20-year playing career, capped by his first World Series victory, with Houston.
