Giuseppe “Joe” Festinese

After a long battle with illness, Joe passed away in his home in Danville, CA on Thanksgivi­ng Day surrounded by his family. Born in Massa Lubrense, Italy and considered a charismati­c, strong willed, and ambitious individual, Joe moved to the United States in 1966 and two months later met his wife of 52 years, Monique. He was an astute business man and operated Festinese of North Beach Men’s Custom Tailoring for over 30 years: a high-end men’s clothing store, which was located on Stockton and Columbus in San Francisco. He was well known in the Italian community and belonged to the Knights of Columbus for many years. Although, he retired from the store, he never retired from doing business and continued to be an active business man and mentor to his family. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Joe is predecease­d by his parents Michele & Anna Sessa Festinese and his. sister, Maria. He is survived by his wife, Monique; son, Denis; daughter, Anna; son in-law Bill; granddaugh­ter, Sabrina; grandson, Joseph; brothers, Antonino and Gennaro; sisters, Nina, Immacolata, Franca, and Liberatina; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Friends are invited for visitation at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 and to attend the celebratio­n of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 666 Filbert Street, S.F., CA 94133 Committal Services to follow at Italian Cemetery, Colma, CA
