Dino J. Ruggeri

-

A proud native of San Francisco, Dino Ruggeri passed away on November 28, 2017, at the age of 97 surrounded by his family.

Dino was a kind, joyful and gentle soul who touched the lives of people he met everyday, until his last moments on this earth. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Eloise, his daughter Gail Ruggeri Sault, his son Richard Perry and Daughter- in- law, Noreen Perry.

As a true San Franciscan he was an avid fan of the Giants and 49ers. For many years he enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Native Sons of the Golden West, The Old Timers Baseball Association, Friends of Marino Pieretti, and Same Old Boys (SOBs) clubs.

As a Machinist, he retired from the City’s Park and Rec. Department after which he enjoyed many years of golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.

This humble man was also a war hero. Dino served bravely in WWII as tail gunner on the B29 in the Central Pacific and earned, amongst other medals, The Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal.

Dino’s acts of kindness were only overshadowed by his incredible sense of humor that brought joy into the hearts of many. We loved him deeply and will miss him more than we can say.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, CA. 94014

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony’s in San Francisco or a charity of your choice.
